With respect to social media use, is your business part of the ten percent?

According to recent research, only ten percent of companies allow their employees access to social media for any use they might desire.

That may seem like a smart way to maintain control and to reduce risk, but Ben McConnell at Church of the Customer makes a good argument in favor of employee freedom in The Social Media Ban.

He maintains that the ten percent have an opportunity to allow employees to act as social media ambassadors for their business and its products and services. The idea of giving social media carte blanche may be unnerving to some, but McConnell makes a strong case for loosening the reigns.
